Onsala IBK was one of 14 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Piratcupen 2020. They participated with 6 teams in Pojkar 07, Pojkar 06 and Flickor 06-08 respectively. The team in Pojkar 07 made it to the the Bronze match in Slutspel A, but lost it against Kärra IBK by 3-7.

In addition to this, Onsala IBK have participated in Piratcupen before. During Piratcupen 2019, Onsala IBK had 4 teams playing in Pojkar 06 and Flickor 06 respectively. The team in Pojkar 06 made it to the the Bronze match in Slutspel A, but lost it against Varla IBK by 1-2.

Onsala IBK originates from Onsala, which is the same city as where Piratcupen takes place. The area around Onsala does also provide 7 additional clubs participating during Piratcupen 2020 (Särö Seahawks IBK, Lindås Rasta IBK, Utbynäs Sk, Varla IBK, Åsa IF, Mölndals IBF and Eken IBK).
