Varla IBK was one of 14 clubs from Sweden that had teams playing during Piratcupen 2020. They participated with four teams in Pojkar 07, Pojkar 06 and Flickor 06-08 respectively. Three teams played until Plac 5/6 in Slutspel A; Pojkar 06 won over Lindås Rasta IBK by 8-5, Flickor 06-08 Svart won over Utbynäs Sk by 6-1 and Flickor 06-08 Lila lost against Wårgårda IBK by 3-5.

In addition to this, Varla IBK have participated in Piratcupen before. During Piratcupen 2019, Varla IBK had three teams playing in Pojkar 06 and Flickor 06 respectively. The team in Pojkar 06 made it to the the Bronze match in Slutspel Aand won it over Onsala IBK Svart by 2-1.

Varla IBK comes from Kungsbacka which lies approximately 9 km from ONSALA, where Piratcupen takes place. The area around Kungsbacka does also provide 8 additional clubs participating during Piratcupen 2020 (Särö Seahawks IBK, Lindås Rasta IBK, Utbynäs Sk, Åsa IF, Onsala IBK, Mölndals IBF, Eken IBK and IK Zenith).
